Frederick "Joe" Joseph ThompsonOctober 31, 1950 ~ November 3, 2017 (age 67)
Frederick “Joe” Joseph Thompson, age 67 of Perrysburg, Ohio and formerly of Rossford, OH passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side. He was born on October 31, 1950 in Lodi, Ohio to Richard and Mildred “Jean” (Hull) Thompson. Joe was a graduate of Waynedale High school. He proudly served his country in the US Army National Guard. Joe married Susan Smith on September 26, 1987 and together they raised 5 children. Joe was a self- employed agricultural salesman who had a motto that the care of the customer was more important than profit.
He enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns and Ohio State. He was a selfless man who always put others first both in business and personally. Joe’s greatest pride and joy in his life was his 5 children. He was a loving husband, father and brother who will be forever missed.
Surviving are his loving wife of 30 years, Sue; children, Garrett, Aaron, Emily, Evan and Andrew; siblings, Ron (Kathy), Tom (Valerie), John (Dar), Sue (Dave) Hapner, Tim (Kathy), Judy (Mike) Rockwell, Dave (Liz), Dick (Diane) and Matt (Angel). Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may visit at the Rossford United Methodist Church, 270 Dixie Hwy., Rossford, OH 43460 on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 10 AM to 12 PM. Funeral service will immediately follow in the church with Pastors Dwayne Shugert and Matt Thompson officiating. Interment will be at Ft. Meigs cemetery in Perrysburg. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford.
