Frank J. Tokar, Sr.October 9, 1937 ~ June 29, 2017 (age 79)
Frank J. Tokar, Sr., age 79 of Rossford, Ohio passed away on June 29, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 9, 1937 in Jackson, Michigan to Stephen and Suzanna Tokar, the youngest of 9. Frank was a 1956 graduate of Waite High School and proudly served his country in the US Army 1st Armored Division, during the Bay of Pigs Cuban Missile Crisis. Following his Honorable Discharge, he was a part time bus driver for the former Altar Elementary School in Rossford and employed with Libbey Owens Ford Glass Co. for more than 43 years. During his retirement, Frank spent his time tree trimming. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and All Saints Catholic Church. Frank was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rose Marie “Re” (Bates); children, Stephen (Laura) Tokar, Frank “Chip” (Kristie) Tokar, Jr., Andrew (Kelly) Tokar, and Susan (Mark) Bruning; grandchildren, Jacob, Frank III, Daniel, Stephen, Rebecca, Miguel, Noah, Drew, Emily, Tony, Jonah, Elijah and Isiah; great grandchildren, Gunner and Harper; sisters, Clare Sniegowski and Frances Gauthier. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, John, Andrew and Stephen Tokar, Ann Freeman, Marie Gallagher and Susan Majier.
Family and friends may visit at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Rd. on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday July 3, 2017 at 10am at All Saints Catholic Church where the family will greet guests beginning at 9am in the church narthex. Interment will follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to All Saints Catholic Church or School.
