Jeffrey Alan Wise, age 56, of Maumee, Ohio departed this world on June 23, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a hard-fought battle with kidney cancer. He was born on October 14, 1961 to Carl and Jane Wise and grew up in Rossford where he and his brothers got into all kinds of fun trouble. Jeff played in the high school marching band, learned the carpentry trade and tried in vain to grow a mustache.
Jeff was a passionate music fan - a trait he passed down to his children. He could often be found browsing at local music shops, strumming away on one of his many guitars or listening to Led Zeppelin at way too high of a volume. He was what he called a "so-so" golfer, but loved the game, participated in many charity golf events and was even able to play the legendary Pebble Beach course. For the past 15 years, he worked for Pella Windows as a Commercial Sales Consultant where his clients and colleagues all agree he was extraordinary.
Throughout his treatments, he remained optimistic often calling friends and family to pump their spirits up. He approached this obstacle as he approached everything in life, with fight and with humor. He was positive and it was infectious. Although he was only able to fight against this disease for a short amount of time, it does not discount the incredible work of his team of Doctors and Nurses at The Toledo Clinic & The Cleveland Clinic.
Jeff leaves behind on Earth not only his brothers Carl (Tami) Wise and Mark (Kathy) Wise, his mother Jane but also a boatload of "kids" whom he adored immensely including Ashley, Jerry, Dylan, Keri, Tyler, Alyssa, Alex, Claire, Jaden, Danielle, Todd, Amanda, Nick, Morgan and of course, Rudy the dog. Although not all were his children he loved them all the same. Included on that list of people he adored is his partner in crime Joan who, in the humble opinion of those listed above, is one hell of a woman.
Jeff impacted the lives of so many and it's an impossible task to sum up the man in a small obituary. So, to hear the rest of the story and to share your own a celebration of his life is being held at Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Rd. on Wednesday June, 27 from 2-8 pm where sharing of memories will begin at 7 pm. Guests are invited to bring stories, bring jokes and remember the things that made Jeff a wonderful father, son, brother, partner, coach, husband, friend and human.
Remembrances of Jeff's life can be made in the form of a donation to Do It For The Love, an organization that helps bring children with severe illnesses to attend live concerts. You can learn more at doitforthelove.org.
