August 25, 1935 ~ May 21, 2018 (age 82)

Marilyn McAlear, age 82 of Rossford, Ohio passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018.  She was born on August 25, 1935 the second of five girls, to Clarence and Evelyn (Gumb) Veigel.  Marilyn was a 1953 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Toledo where she was ranked academically first in her class.  She married Patrick Brennan McAlear on December 29, 1956 and together they raised two sons.  She worked for Service Spring Corporation as the Chief Financial Officer for 37 years retiring in 2004.  She was on the Board of Directors for Mid-American Bank, University of Toledo, Lourdes University and the Toledo Yacht Club.  Marilyn was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford. She was very devoted to God and family.  She was heavily involved in church activities and other spiritual pursuits such as distributing Communion to the patients in hospice care, as she loved the Lord deeply.  She treasured her family members and she was happiest surrounded by them in joy and in sorrow.  She was fun-loving, loyal, generous and always willing to assist others in worthy endeavors.  Marilyn was “personality plus” and brightened any room that she entered.  Friends, many whom were life-long were very important to her and they were considered precious and loved.  She will be forever missed and never forgotten.
