Michael (Mike) Stolar, age 92 of Rossford, OH passed away on April 12th, 2018 at his home. He was born August 14, 1925 in Rossford to Michael and Caroline (Sramcik) Stolar. Mike graduated from Rossford High School and worked at Libbey Owens Ford until he went in to the Army during WWII where he was stationed in Japan. After his honorable discharge from the Army he became an apprentice at Genfen Furs. After learning the fur business, Michael opened his own business Michael’s Furs in Toledo. Mike was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church and the American Slovak Ladies Association. He was an excellent baker and a beautiful sewer. Mike enjoyed basketball especially during March Madness. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, Redwings and Lions as well as the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers. Mike liked working on word search puzzles and watching daily mass on TV when he could no longer get to church.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law John Wascak, his nephews, Tom, John and Rick Wascak and his niece Susan Wascak.
Mike is survived by his sister Elizabeth Wascak and a niece Caroline (Darrell) Huffman. Mike is also survived by his two niece in-laws Barbara and Joan Wascak, 2 great nephews Gregory (Jessica) and Matthew Wascak and a great niece Megan Wascak as well as a great-great nephew Aiden Wascak and a great-great niece Lillian Wascak and many cousins, friends and special angels.
Family and friends may visit at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Rd. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 9:30AM to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM in the church. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Mike’s memory to All Saints Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford.
