Elizabeth M. “Betty” Polgar, at the age of 101, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 3, 2018. She was born on August 7, 1916 in Toledo to Paul and Mary (Vamos) Jacso. Betty was a graduate of Waite High School and her employment over the years included Libbey Glass, Pinkerton Tobacco Co., Hullhurst Tools and Packo Catering.
She is survived by her daughters, Christina (Tom) Kaspitzke and Sandra (James) Fierle; grandchildren, Amy (BJ) Swartz, Marc Kaspitzke, Ryan Kaspitzke, Becky (Mark) Hachenburg, Michael (Michele) Fierle and Andrew Fierle. Also surviving are 5 great grandchildren and special nieces, Madelyn Botek, Carolyn Cushing and Jean Brown.
Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, John Vasko and William Polgar; her parents; siblings, Mary Kiss, Marguerite Kertez and Paul Jacso.
Family and friends may visit at the St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 1880 Genesee St, Toledo, OH 43605 on Betty’s 102nd birthday Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 9:30 – 11:00 AM in the church narthex. At 11 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will take place in the Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery will be private. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Louis Helping Hands, 1933 Spielbusch Ave., Toledo, OH 43604 in Betty’s Memory. The Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford is assisting the family with arrangements.
