Richard J Nietrzeba

Richard J. Nietrzeba, age 78 of Rossford, Ohio passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Heartland Promedica Hospice in Sylvania.  He was born on April 14, 1940 in Toledo to Stanley and Thecla (Damazyn) Nietrzeba.  Richard was a graduate of Rossford High School and proudly served his country in the US Navy.  He was employed for Jeep as a lineman for 25 years.  Richard was active in many outdoor activities including fishing, hunting rabbits, mushrooms and asparagus.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great granddaughter, Paisley.  He was a loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his children, Lora (John) Rombach, Richard, and Kevin (Chris) Nietrzeba; grandchildren, Megan (Drake) Schultz, Rebecca, Julie (Trent Morelock), and John Rombach; great granddaughter, Paisley Schultz; sister, Patricia Petryk; and lifelong friend, Bill Tinney. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Christine (Meyers) Nietrzeba on August 28, 2018; son Steven; and his sister, Rita Nietrzeba.

Family and friends may visit at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Rd. on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Anthony Recker officiating.  Interment will follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
